T-Shirt Quilts Fundraising Drawing
As I have recently passed my 30th anniversary as a Testicular Cancer Survivor, seminoma Stage II, I have reflected on the memories of those years. Therefore my idea for this year's fundraising will be built around those memories and a way to save them. One way to save memories of our cycling and other life experiences is through what are called T-shirt quilts or also known as memory quilts
The donations to the LAF for drawing tickets ended September 30, 2006. Feel free to continue to donate to the LiveStrong project . The first ticket has been pick for them to pick their prize first and then further tickets will be drawn and so on until all of the prizes have been given away. Each ticket can be a winner. Any questions, feel free to email at docnzym@drewe.com
My fundraiser is a drawing that includes 3 main prizes = 2 pre-designed quilts and one custom chosen by the winner . The quilts will be in the fashion of 3 squares by 3 squares for a total of 9 squares and based around 3 different themes. They will be sized so that they can be hung on a wall or used as a lap quilt.
The first theme (Prize #1) Picked
by Winner #2will be the nine years of the Ride for the Roses and will
feature all nine of Bill Cass's drawings
Finished quilt as of September 2, 2006
The second theme (Prize #2)
Picked by Winner #1 will be based on the three years of the Tour of Hope and
will include a Tour of Hope jersey in the quilt. The jersey will be autographed
by 3 Tour of Hope members representing each of the first three years.
Finished quilt as of September 2, 2006.
The third theme (Prize #3)
Picked by Winner #5 is not known at this time because it will be picked by the winner of this
prize. YES, that means this winner will be able to personally choose 9 T-shirts (or
8 plus one jersey) that will be designed and quilted by my lovely wife,
also a cancer survivor.
